How to Cut Corrugated Cardboard

Hat tip to: By Racheal Ambrose , eHow Contributor

Cut corrugated cardboard with a box cutter. A box cutter can slice through the layers of the cardboard, unlike scissors. Corrugated cardboard is a sheet of wavy cardboard that sits between two flat sheets of cardboard. This makes it thicker and more difficult to cut. Wear a cutting glove or heavy work gloves while using a box cutter to avoid injuring yourself. The box cutter uses a sharp, thin blade to make its incisions. Some box cutters have a finger guard or other safety features to decrease the chance of injury.

Instructions

1: Put on the gloves. Place the corrugated cardboard on a large cutting board or surface that can get scratched.

2: Hold the box cutter in your dominant hand.

3:Place the other hand on the cardboard to hold it steady. Insert the tip of the blade into the cardboard, pointing the blade away from your body.

4:Slide the box cutter through the cardboard, moving away from the body.

5: Remove the cut piece of cardboard.
